CONCLUSION

connection to course content and final remarks

relation to Course content

This relates to the course content, connecting to many topics studied this semester. For example, the conversation of, suburban decay (Ru-ex), haunted spaces (grounds, churches, graveyards), catastrophe on the landscape, weird tales and urban legends, and it even unveils some rediscovered family history. On top of that, the churches burnt down not once, but twice, yet, some of the relics still survived today, leaving and eerie presence on the landscape. LaSalette Historic Church is still standing today and with all of these elements combined, it makes for a truly haunting story.

conclusion

Despite the devasting loss of important history, these stories shall forever live on. Much of the past is still haunting us today and every time we see the church, it is a reminder of not only past events, but also of the community’s hard work and dedication which should be celebrated. Although this hidden gem underwent many changes/developments, it is highly memorable and cherished by the community and many others. The story of the LaSalette Historic Church is a prime example of haunted landscapes and rural exploration, uncovering much of the lingering residue of the past. I know the church is a huge inspiration for not only people of the past and present, but also for many generations to come. As a community, it is our responsibility to learn and adapt from the past in order to preserve our cherished history, and ensure the story lives on to prepare for a better future.
